This is the hardest topic for me to write “About me”, and I find that’s true for most of us. We can list lot of external things which we have but mostly don’t reach to the wisdom phase as the quote indicates. The funny part is that I’ve the intelligence of knowing others due to my education and experience. Well, we have to try to find wisdom, and I’m GETTING THERE (page title). Anyways, here’s an attempt…..
I’m Mrugank (a.k.a MP). I consider myself very lucky not because I’ve won a lottery or am super famous.
What I do have is a beautiful family, friends and a lifestyle which allows me to spend maximum time with them. I’ve created the life I’ve always desired. I live by my own values and do what matters most to me.
Yet prior to becoming a full-time professional Coach and Psychotherapist, I used to have a 9 to 5 job, for over a decade.
I’ve spent most of my career as consultant in Fortune 500 companies in Australia. Despite being on the peak of my career, I started asking myself – Will I be doing what I’m doing right now till I turn 65 (retirement age)? Will I be doing the 9 to 5 thing for another 30+ years?
Externally I was successful but inside I was looking for meaning and purpose. Having all the materialistic privileges but no purpose in life.
In the hope of find meaning and purpose, I studied human psychology and behaviour. (I’m a certified Psychotherapist, according to Australian Standards)
The skills I learned, helped me understand what I want in life and overcome my own mental roadblocks. I applied the psychological skills consistently to eventually quit my corporate job.
I mainly utilise Contextual Behavioural Science and Positive Psychology which is empirically supported approaches to personal and professional development. My approach combines mindfulness and values based actions with some ground breaking psychological theories.
I don’t have a “get rich quick” schemes or “happiness” pills, although I teach science-based principles and practices to help you produce specific, measurable and long-lasting changes in your self.
After spending almost 15 years in world’s most liveable city (go Melbourne), I now spend most of my time in India with a mission to bring better education on psychological health and help maximum people.
I do this work because it is meaningful to me. I put more focus on coaching from my successful career as Management consultant because I am passionate and committed to helping people overcome their barriers.
I am committed to my own growth which allows me to be honest and open. I’ve gone through my own career change and challenges in life, which has given me compassionate approach to dealing with peoples road blocks.
Utilizing the best interventions based on science and supported by research. I also have an understanding of what actions lead to enhancing resilience and performance from my own experiences and the experiences of my clients.
