Burnout & Stress Therapy ยท Online ยท India

Burnt out? There’s a difference between needing rest and needing a system.

You’ve taken the breaks. You’ve tried the holidays. You came back and nothing changed. That’s not laziness. That’s burnout โ€” and it responds to structure, not just sleep.

The numbers India isn’t talking about

62%

of Indian employees experience burnout vs 20% globally

78%

report both physical and mental exhaustion

64%

would accept a pay cut for better mental wellbeing

56%

experienced burnout in the last year alone

You are not weak. You are statistically overloaded โ€” and under-supported.

Know the difference

Is it stress, or is it burnout?

Most people wait too long because they’re not sure. Here’s the clearest way to tell the difference.

Stress

Short-term, tied to a specific task or event

You still care โ€” you’re just overwhelmed

Rest helps

You feel anxious

Recovery is quick once pressure eases

Burnout

Chronic โ€” weeks or months long

You’ve stopped caring, even about things you loved

Rest doesn’t fix it

You feel empty

Recovery requires a deliberate process

If you’ve been “just tired” for more than a few months, this is burnout. And burnout has a system.

Symptoms

Signs you may be experiencing burnout.

If 3 or more of these have been true for several weeks, it’s time to take this seriously.

โ€”

You wake up exhausted no matter how much you slept

โ€”

Work tasks that used to energise you now feel pointless

โ€”

You feel detached โ€” from your job, your relationships, even yourself

โ€”

Small problems feel disproportionately overwhelming

โ€”

You’re irritable, cynical, or emotionally flat

โ€”

You’re getting through the day on autopilot

โ€”

You’ve started wondering “what’s the point?”

โ€”

You feel guilty for not doing more, even when you’re doing too much

The real reason

Why smart, driven people burn out.

India doesn’t just tolerate overwork. It rewards it. Long hours are a badge of honour. Saying “I’m fine” is a survival skill. Asking for help is still, for many, seen as failure.

The result: an entire generation of high-performing, deeply depleted people who have optimised for output and forgotten to ask what they actually want from their life.

Burnout isn’t a character flaw. It’s what happens when the demands placed on you exceed the resources available to you โ€” for long enough, without enough acknowledgement.

The problem isn’t you. The problem is a system that never taught you how to recover from itself.

Your guide

A system for recovery. Not just advice.

I’m Mrugank Patel โ€” psychotherapist, ACT & CBT practitioner, and formerly a consultant to Fortune 500 organisations. I know what high-performance environments do to people because I’ve worked inside them.

My approach to burnout isn’t about telling you to slow down. It’s about helping you reconnect with what actually matters to you โ€” and building a system that makes that sustainable.

This is not journaling. This is not “take a walk.” This is a structured, science-backed process with a beginning, a middle, and a measurable end.

The process

How recovery works.

Step 01

Free clarity call

A 30-minute conversation to understand what’s happening and whether we’re the right fit. No pressure. No sales pitch. Just clarity.

Step 02

Your burnout recovery system

A structured sequence of sessions using ACT and CBT that target the specific patterns driving your exhaustion โ€” not generic wellness advice.

Step 03

Life re-aligned

You leave with more than relief. You leave with a framework for sustainable high performance built around your values โ€” not someone else’s expectations.

FAQ

Questions people ask before booking.

Can therapy actually help burnout, or do I just need rest?

Rest treats exhaustion. Therapy treats the pattern that led to exhaustion. Most people who “just need rest” find themselves burnt out again 6 months later because the underlying patterns haven’t changed. Therapy addresses the root.

What’s the difference between stress and burnout?

Stress is short-term and usually tied to a specific situation โ€” it lifts when the pressure lifts. Burnout is chronic depletion where even rest doesn’t restore you. Emotional flatness, detachment, and cynicism are the clearest signals you’ve crossed from stress into burnout.

I love my job. How can I be burnt out?

Burnout doesn’t require hating your work. In fact, people who care deeply about what they do are often the most vulnerable. When meaning gets buried under volume, even work you love can deplete you. This is one of the most common patterns I work with.

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients working on burnout see meaningful change within 8โ€“12 sessions. Some need fewer, some more โ€” it depends on how long the burnout has been building and what’s underneath it. We’ll have a clearer picture after the first session.

Is this confidential?

Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is strictly confidential. The only exceptions are situations where there is a risk of serious harm โ€” which I’ll explain clearly before we begin.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. All sessions are conducted online โ€” from anywhere in India, without the commute, without the waiting room, and without anyone knowing.

Ready when you are

You don’t have to keep running on empty.

Burnout doesn’t fix itself. But with the right system, it does resolve โ€” and people come out the other side with more clarity about what they want than they had before it started.

The first step takes 30 minutes and costs nothing.
