Coaching is a useful way of developing people’s skills and abilities, and of boosting performance. It can also help deal with issues and challenges before they become major problems. The process creates a step by step change in results by focusing on behaviour and mindset.
The technical definition is “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment”
In simple words – we help you get to where you want to go.
Yes!!! We definitely want to chat with you; as we want to make sure coaching is right for you. We will explain in detail what will you get out of our relationship and how.
Define what you expect to accomplish from a coaching partnership. There are many reasons coaching could be right for you, some of them are:
First and most important step is to set goals. Ask yourself, “How would I like to be different by the end of coaching? How would I behave differently? What will I have? What will I not have?”
Think specifically about changes you’d like to make at work, at home, in your relationships with family, friends, co-workers, and others. We will help you to evaluate and refine these goals and help you determine which goals you might be able to work at on your own and which ones you might want to work on in the partnership.
The first session is for the coach to become acquainted with you and learn about what you want (and don’t want). We define specific goals and outcomes for our relationship. We also explain in detail some of the aspects of coaching process. Our goal in first session is to provide you a non-judgemental environment, so you can share your challenges comfortably.
This depends on case by case basis. Most of our clients are above 21 for life coaching and career coaching clients are above 12.
We mainly utilise Contextual Behavioral Science and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which is empirically supported approaches to personal and professional development. Our approach combines mindfulness and values based action with some ground breaking psychological theories.
We also utilise GROW Model and Solution Focused approach in our consulting work to increase wellbeing, performance, and goal achievement. We teach science-based principles and practices for increasing happiness, which is based on positive psychology.
There are lot of people around to give you advice on what to do and what not to do. We believe in evidence-based psychology as it gives confidence that the advice given has been thoroughly tested and proven to work. We don’t ask you to walk on fire to increase your motivation, it is important for you to know WHY our approach works.
This has added benefit of easier skills and knowledge transfer. You are buying the highest quality of advice in terms of what works and doesn’t.
Most of the individual coaching we do is virtual/online. Some of the benefits our clients have found of virtual coaching are:
Virtual coaching also suits with my travels and corporate training as clients do not need to wait for me to get back to office.
Sessions are usually 60 minutes. Depending on clients’ goals this is customisable.
Yes it is within the confines of the law. Confidentiality and non-judgemental listening is critical part of our coaching process. We abide by Australian Government’s privacy and confidentiality laws for psycho therapists, which can only be broken in the most extreme circumstances, e.g. if a person is currently involved in acts of child abuse, if you are clearly likely to cause bodily harm to yourself or others.
Email communication is preferred if you are looking to clarify something simple, although emails do have chances of misinterpretation. Our email programs use encryption technology to protect confidentiality. Although, confidentiality of emails has limitations and cannot be guaranteed all the time. Do not use email during a crisis. In the case of a medical emergency, call your local emergency response number.
You will get full refund, including the cost of first session with a smiley face.
Yes and No, there are many situations where you would be better off seeing another expert.
We most of the time say No to clients suffering from clinical issues e.g. schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, autism, Aspergers syndrome.
But you can always chat with us for free to discuss if we are the experts you need.
Not really but at times we have worked with couples. Please chat to us for free and we’ll let you know.
